Help & answers

Frequently asked questions

How to export a Tricount to CSV for Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, what data is included, and how your group information is handled.

How do I export a Tricount to Excel or Google Sheets?

Paste your Tricount share link or ID into Tricount Exporter and load the group. Choose the expenses, reimbursements or balance summary you need, select the people and columns to include, then download a CSV file. You can import that file into Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers or another spreadsheet app.

Does Tricount Exporter create an Excel .xlsx file?

Not currently. Tricount Exporter downloads a CSV file, a standard spreadsheet format that can be imported into Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. JSON export is also available for people who need structured data.

What Tricount data can I export?

You can export expenses, reimbursements and the balance summary. For transaction exports, you can choose fields such as date, description, category, payer and total, as well as which people to include.

Is Tricount Exporter free?

Yes. Tricount Exporter is completely free and does not require an account, subscription or sign-up.

Do I need a Tricount or bunq account?

No. You only need the share link or ID of the Tricount group you want to inspect and export.

Where do I find my Tricount share link?

Open the group in Tricount, open the sharing menu, choose Other, and copy the full share link. You can paste either that link or just the ID at the end of it into Tricount Exporter.

Is my Tricount data stored on a server?

Your group data is fetched on demand from Tricount's official server and is not retained by our server. Tricount Exporter saves loaded groups only in your browser's local storage so you can return to them later on the same device.

Does exporting change my Tricount group?

No. Tricount Exporter reads the data available through your share link. It does not add, edit or delete expenses in your Tricount group.
